Talk about exceptional people! Catie & Matthew won me over early on in this process, as only one can do when you are faced with multiple moving parts in your personal and professional life and also trying to plan the wedding weekend of your dreams. Sometimes, due to location and schedules, I don’t meet a bride, groom or parents until wedding day. So when I headed over to “Sweet Baby James” early on the afternoon of their Rehearsal Day to drop off some items, I quietly entered the house, and wondered if I was going to be able to finally meet the person I had talked to for a solid 9 months! We had worked through some logistics issues and I felt such a kinship with Catie. I’ll never forget finally getting to meet her in person and hug her just spray-tanned neck! Ha!
Taylor’s images captured the day perfectly. You’ll see- the exceptional October weather (is that still a secret?), the golden sunset on Carillon’s private beach, the beautiful flowers and decor, along with cakes and of course, their 7-piece band, Even Odds.
Fun note: When Matthew asked Catie to marry him, he had friends hold “Will you marry me?” signs as they drove up. Later, those friends held up the absolute sweetest signs (“How does forever sound”) at the end of the sparkler exit. The love that day…I tell you, was at every turn.
